    Admin Response

The exact project privileges needed may vary between P6 versions. The privileges described here are for P6 version 8.3.

    1. To import/synchronise from P6 the user need only have access to any project resources in P6>Admin>Users>Global Access. No privileges are needed for the Global Security Profile.

    2. Under Project Access, the user should be given a profile that has at least “View Project Costs/Financials” privilege (which can be set in Admin>Security Profiles>Project Profiles).

    3. If you do not wish to import Resources or Costs into Synchro or your project does not contain these objects, no privileges at all are needed.

These attributes can be skipped on P6 import if you do not have permission or do not wish to import them:

    4. The permissions required to synchronize from P6 are the same as those required to import a schedule the first time. However, if you wish to make changes to the schedule in Synchro and then export or synchronise TO P6 so that the changes are reflected in your P6 database, then you will need further privileges in P6.
