After looking through the help section under "Formula Editor" I found a page which shows to to combine multiple user fields into one. Here is the example that was used:
UFV(“Level”) + ”-“ + UFV(“Zone”) + ”-“ + UFV(“Piecemark”)
So I've used this method and one road block I am finding is that if a certain resource does not have one of the above user fields set, when recalculating the values it will unassign the newly created user field. I tried again with only user field values that apply to the resource and it worked fine.
Is there a workaround for this to skip undefined values, somewhat similar to the "True if Undef" feature in auto matching?
Instead of UFV("Name"), use UFV_ZERO("Name") which will return an empty string if the User Field is unassigned. UFV("Name") returns [UNSET] if the User Field is unassigned. For example
UFV_ZERO(“Level”) + ”-“ + UFV_ZERO(“Zone”) + ”-“ + UFV_ZERO(“Piecemark”)
